5 Things Lolita Fashion Taught Me..and Probably You Too

I honestly believe all alternative fashions make someone a more rounded person. They teach you creativity, about history and art movements and make you more accepting of others. Lolita fashion is a massive learning curve and to prove this, here are 5 things that Lolita taught me:

  • Sewing and Textiles-  I new a bit about textiles and could sew previous to my fall in love with Lolita moment, but my sewing skills and knowledge of textiles have vastly improved since.

  • Geography- I have never been good at geography, but Lolita Fashion has helped. The worldwide Lolita community are so tightly linked, you cant help picking up some of  the stuff you should have learnt in a Geography class.
  • Acronyms- EGL, EGA, OP, JSK, OTK, AP, BTSSB, MMM... the list goes on.
  • Posture-  Ok I haven't perfected this..but if your postures not perfect, Lolita fashion will stop you slumping.. some of the time at least.
  • Converting Yen- If Lolita teaches you one thing.. it will be to convert yen into your local currency at the drop of a hat.

Do you feel you have learnt anything from Lolita or any other fashion?
